default user folders, internet explorer start page url

Mike Brown

Hello,
We have 10 or so users on a Win2k Domain who get the following errors...
1) 'A change to the default user folders requires your approval'

(Users' My Docs folders here are redirected to their respective H drives on
the network)

2) 'An internet explorer start page url change requires your approval'

(Text mentions from Google to Yahoo while stating that an MS site is the
default)

I believe that the users get the messages upon their first login. All users
are Domain Users only - not Local Admins.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks for the reply Andre,
We are definitely not using SMS in this particular environment though the
resuliting behavior is similar. The My Docs folders are remapped manually
via the Users' desktops - right-clicking the folder etc. and the users
simply want to have different IE home pages.
Any other ideas? Anyone else?
It would stink to have to turn off Real-Time protection as it would negate
the purpose...

The current app only supports the administrator account that installed the
app. Using other accounts will cause this to happen.

MS is going to release an enterprise version of MSAS sometime in the future,
but it WILL NOT be free.

Thanks for the answer Alan!
Does anyone know, (I will try it and report back but cannot do for a day or
two from now) - if one re-installs the product as the end-user/eventual user
(temporarily giving then later removing Local Admin rights) - will the
problem disappear?
