Hello All, I have about 60 laptop users and I want to make
their default save location the A drive. I created a GPO
to do this, only problem is that with folder redirection,
it wants the floppy in the A drive when Windows starts or
it spits off an error message.

Any other suggestions?

Never, Never, Never, have Word default to a removable drive especially
NOT the floppy. That is a disaster just looking for a chance to happen.

Bob, I agree thats not the best policy, but it's about the
only way for us to accomplish our task. The laptops are
mounted in cars, the users don't remove them. Also we
don't want them saving to the laptop (not practical as
they don't always get the same car) and saving to a
network drive isn't a good option as their GPRS coverage
often doesn't work.

That said, is there any way to accomplish what I need to
do?

What about small USB drives? More durable than floppy, larger storage
capacity...

If I had to use the A: drive then switch to using Wordpad or Notepad.
They don't make duplicates on the drive the file is on like Word does.
