somehow my jpegs are now opening with internet
Explorer.how do i change back to the default for W2k and
what is the default. or is there a better program to use
as default. the jpegs do not have the usual icon they are
now IE
thanks
..

The default for opening jpegs in a new install of Windows 2000 is Microsoft Internet Explorer. What would you prefer?

This should be your default icon:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe,8

And opening jpegs with IE as your helper application should be using DDE. These are all the defaults. It is some work getting all the defaults back once they have been corrupted by imaging programs. One reason why I never let anything nab image extensions if I can stop it. It's almost impossible getting all the defaults back unless you have made backup registry files for all image extensions.

My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types -> Scrool Until you
find .jpg, .jpeg, amd .jpe, click the change button at the bottom where it
says opens with.
