Default mail client

when I try to click on a contact box I get the message "Could not perform
this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed".
What does this mean & how do I fix it? I use yahoo & hotmail & gmail - now
what?
 
Saying you use Yahoo & Hotmail & Gmail doesn't tell me what I need to know.
Do you access those mail services via your browser or via a mail client like
Windows Mail?
Where exactly are you seeing this "contact box"?
