My default home page keeps going to about:blank.
This happened yesterday and no matter how many times
I change it to what I want it keeps going back. I have
run a virus scan and no virus was detected. I did not
load any software or do anything out of the ordinary
yesterday.

Nancy,

You probably have been hit by one of the variants of the coolweb malware.
Do a Google search for "coolweb shredder", without the quotes, and check out
the information on detection and removal tools. You may have to disable
System Restore to eliminate a possible hiding place for this sneaky piece of
software. When you get your system cleaned up you can start System Restore
again, if you want. I don't use it as it only works about 10% of the time
and it eats up system resources, too.

Nancy - You have been hijacked with "coolwebsearch" malware. I had the
SAME problem and fought it for hours to no avail. Then someone
suggested the lastest version of CWShredder (you MUST have version
1.58 to clean the latest variant of that hijack). Initially, I had
version 1.57 (i think) and it would not clean it. Version 1.58
knocked it right out.
