default gridlines color in Excel?

When I call up Excel 2003 (Office 2003 Pro is installed), the horizontal
gridlines show, but the vertical do not. If I go in and change the gridline
color to black instead of Automatic, they appear both horizontal and
vertical. How can I make this default gridline color permanent so I don't
have to do it for every single spreadsheet I open?

Thanks

As far as I know, the only why to have black gridlines in new
workbooks/worksheets is to create a custom startup template that has that
property set. If you search in Help on "Customize how Excel starts" you
should find instructions on how to do that.

This has come up before.

I googled and found no viable answer.

Couple of suggestions........make sure printer driver is up to date.

........Try a different Zoom setting.

Hi Gord,

Thanks for the tip. I've tried several different zoom settings and no
change. I've made sure all the print and video drivers are up to date. Still
trying to find a solution.

Many thanks,
Rob

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the tip. My initial attempts at this have not worked but I will
spend more time digging into this. I think there may be light at the end of
this tunnel.

Many thanks,
Rob
