Default Gateway on VPN Connection

Hello,

i have the following problem:
My XPSP2 Computer (IP 192.168.0.1) is connected via lan to an
internet-router and i have a permanet VPN connection. The
default-gateway should be the routers IP 192.168.0.2.
On the VPN connection I have the client IP 192.168.4.4.
Although i unchecked "Use default gateway on remote network" on
advanced options, everytime the VPN connection is established, a route
to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.4.4 192.168.4.4 Metric 1 is created.
How can I prevent this route form being created ?
On this machine I tried winroute and nat32 before, but it is now
uninstalled, could that be the problem ? Another point is that ICS ist
activated for the VPN connection, because I need it for routing. On
another Machine with similar configuration (ICS also activated for VPN
connection, "Use defaul..." unchecked), the 0.0.0.0 route for the VPN
connection is not created.
May it be i have to reset something...?
The problem is that sometimes the computer uses the 192.168.4.4 as
default gateway. Most of the time the default gateway is the desired
route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.2 on interface 192.168.0.1, which has
also metric 1. But sometimes without an apparent reason the default
gateway changes to the VPN-route, so if i could prevent this route from
being created, the problem may be solved.

Do you use windows server as VPN server? Or third party VPN like Cisco? Also it is not recommended enable VPN on the ICS.
