Default Format Style - Where stored?

Since an update last March, Outlook has insisted in defaulting to Paragraph
style with the after spacing set to 20 pt (Auto) or something goofy. Where
does Outlook store the default style so I can keep the line spacing at 0?
It's a real bother to have to change it for EVERY message.

What is happening is when I create a new message, Outlook in its infinite
redmondian wisdom default to paragraph style. This style automatically
inserts a line after each enter / carriage return. What I have noticed is
this default does not carry forward to the recipient so you end up having
humongous paragraphs.
Breaking news...I think I stumbled on the solution. Under Tools Options when
a message is being composed I went to compatibility tab and checked the box
for Do not use automatic line spacing for HTML. I then saved that as the
default compatibility. Funny, the original compatibility was for Word 2003
and the default for Word 2003 on my machine is NOT to use autospacing ever.
