The default location is a hidden temp folder, within temp internet files,
and as such is cleaned out from time to time
(The OLK folder)
By using Save As, once attachment is opened, to save to a location on your
hd, if you have edited the attachment, the origonal attachment remains in
the mail
Or using one of the attachment utilites available at www.slipstick.com
Depends entirely on how you're trying to save it. If you're opening an
attachment and then using the File>Save As menu of the application that opened
it, then DL's answer applies. If you're right-clicking the attachment without
opening it and choosing Save As, then this applies: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823131
