Default-First-Site-Name is empty

We have a native 2003 AD network with about 30 sites. In Active Directory
Sites and Services, the Default-First-Site-Name site has no servers in it.

What problems might this cause?

I've read that the first site goes there, how do I determine which site was
the first site or which one should be used?

It does not matter that this site is empty.
This merely means all your servers were moved into custom made sites.
It is safe to delete it.
It is also safe to leave it.
