Default E-mail Program

I have had no success in trying to change the default e-mail program from
within the Internet Explorer Internet options to Microsoft Outlook. The only
thing that seems to come up is Outlook Express, regardless of this setting!
I have just recently updated this OS to XP service pack 2. I am trying to
use the File- Send- Link by E-mail and/or Page by E-mail function. Someone
please help!

Thank you!

Try from within Outlook. Click on Tools > Options > Other, then enable "Make
Outlook the default........". Click on Apply then OK.

I have a similar but slightly different issue with the mail button withing
IE-6. For some reason if I click the mail button within IE-6, then select
either of the options, send page, or send link for example, I cannot get IE-6
to send the email from my installed Outlook Express program. I have made
Outook Express my default email program, both from the Internet options side,
and also from within the Outlook Express program. I also have "Outlook
installed, but I have this deselected from within that program "not" to be
the default email program. I've tried uninstalling Outlook, thinking IE-6
would then have no choice but to mail my selection from Outlook Express. No
such luck......When I click on the mail button from within IE-6, I constantly
get a message from an "Outlook" messaage box that says, " Either there is no
default meial client or current mail client cannot fulfill the massaging
request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail
client"..........My installed version of IE-6 used to send my mail links to
Outlook Express just fine. Now it's not. Any suggestions, help? ? ? I
haven't been able to find any help with this issue at Microsoft's sites.
Thanks for any help provided.

Eric, I have a similar problem. I cannot get IE-6 to use my installed
Outlook Express when I click the mail button in IE-6. I have Outlook Express
configured to be my defalult email program both from within Internet Options
in IE-6, and in Outlook Express options. I also have "Outlook" installed,
but secifically have this program "deselected" as the default email
program........When I click on the mail button in IE-6, to send a link or a
page, IE-6 used to send my link or page to my Outlook Express program for
mailing. Now for some reason I get an "Outlook" message box when I click the
IE-6 mail button that states the following "Either there is no default mail
client or current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please
run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail Client"....... Can
anyone help me fix this problem, I want IE-6 to use Outlook Express with
Internet Explorer, not Outlook, and now all I get is this message.

Thanks for the help.
