default autoshapes

This seems so basic but...

I am trying to make a sample presentation/template that several people will
use to create their presentations.
One request was to make the autoshape default with tahoma as the font and no
shadow. When I create the shape with the attributes I want I selected
format/colors and lines/default for new objects. Everything works except
for the font it goes back to arial with a shadow.

How can I fix this? I am working in 2003

Make your autoshape
right click and choose Format Autoshape and click the default box
right click add text
right click on text and choose font
choose your font, size, appearance etc. and check default box.
There you go.
