Default.asp Problem

M

Mary Jane

On publishing my web to the server, I see a message that
says it is publishing the home page (index.htm) as
default.asp. I cannot access the index.htm anymore and
get an http: 500 error when trying to get to it from any
other page. Have tried deleting everything out of the
web and republishing it but continue to have this
problem. Can anyone help?? Thank You

Contact your host to add index.htm as the default page.

Thank You...that is too simple but will no doubt be the
solution to the problem. I am concerned however, as to
how this happened and will it happen again??

Sounds like the default home page file name on the server is default.asp,
which FrontPage would rename your home page to on publish. Try looking for
that.
