Decimal Point Added to end of number bug

HI

I am just beginning to use Excel spreadsheets.

My problem is whenever I enter a number into a cell, Excel
automatically adds a decimal point to the end of the number - ie if I
enter 1234 - the number is displayed as 1234.

Could anybody tell me if this is an Excel bug? Or if anybody could
provide a solution, I would be grateful.

Hi
you may check the format of this cell as well as 'Tools - Options -
Edit' and make sure 'Fixed decimals' is not checked
