Hi,

I have a survey of statistical data in an Excel-sheet
and I want in the right-most column the proportion of
subtotals in %.
This is all fine but I'm getting 7 trailing digits after the
decimal point and I want to reduce these to e.g. 2.
I know I'd make use of ##.## - but where do I put that
format?
Thanks in advance,
Jan

Or...

Format>Cells...>Numbers Tab>Custom and enter in the box.

However there is seldom any need for custom formats. just select Number,
Percentage, etc and select the number of decimal places in the box

Nick & Damorrison,

In the meantime ...
it's even easier: there's a button in the lower toolbar,
in the same section as the $ sign, saying ",00 -> ,0,
with a tip saying "Decreasing Decimal". Just click, while
focus on the cell ...
Thanks both for your posts anyway.
