Are there any decent replacements for Microsoft Search that is more
suitable for engineers/system admin people?
What I need is something that can:
Reliably search within all files (such as system files), not just
document files.
Search all folders including system folders.
Ability to use regular complex regular expressions (both within
filename and contents)
Also very nice if it can:
Search within zip (and hopefully rar) files.
Be able to search on other metadata fields (date created, audio bit
rate, author, etc).
All those new fangled search applications like Google Desktop are much
better for document searches but for really digging deep into datafiles
and being very specific they're pretty useless.
