Hi All,

I have a home network that consists of 2 PC's and 2 works Laptops.

Recently i have noticed a downturn in both my home computers and especially
my work laptops.

The setup is as follows BT line - connected to Linksys WAG54GS Router
Gateway (4 Port) Main machine connected via cable from router port - Copper
cable atached to Cisco 3550 switch which connects my other PC and 2 work
laptops.

I have checked the following...3550 which displays 100mbps on ALL ports.
Both the works laptops use VPN and i have not had any problems with
connection. The main machine has been tested for Spyware and Viruses but none
present.

Does anyone know how the linksys router works? Does it keep some kind of
routing table? If so can i clear the contents of this table and start afresh.
Is there anyone able to offer any advise to speed up my network.

Kind Regards.

What is slow internet access or peer to peer access??

You can use websites like http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ to test your
internet connection speed uplink and downlink to see if it is what you are
paying for.

The Linksys does have a routing table but I doubt that is the problem. For
internet access it uses PAT - port address translation to keep track of what
traffic goes where from public to private and private to public. If you
suspect a problem with the Linksys simply try a soft reset by unplugging the
power from it for about 5 seconds.
