Hi

I have written a macro that writes some formulas (external links) into a
worksheet. The problem is, that Excel converts the numberformat
automatically. Sometines (I don't know the reasons why) a text will be
stored instead of a pointer. Does anybody know how to deactivate the
numberformatting.

I'm not sure you can turn off this "helpful" feature.

But you could just set the numberformat to what you want before you put the
formula in.

I've found that putting the formula in the first time doesn't change the cell to
text (if it referred to a Text cell), but subsequent changes to the formula did
change it to text.
