? DDR2, DDR1, and Dual Channel - What's the difference

I see memory being advertised as DDR2 now as well as DDR1, someone told
me that Dual Channel Memory is the same as DDR2? Is that so? I also
seen that PC3200 does not come in "DDR2" but does come in "dual
channel".

Can anyone explain the differences?

DDR1 is an older standard for RAM sticks that was used up until about a year
ago in motherboards routinely. DDR2 is the current standard and uses a
different socket and number of pins than DDR1 and so is NOT backward
compatible with it. DDR2 also comes in faster speeds than DDR1.
Now, Dual Channel is a system used by motherboards of the last few years,
for BOTH DDR1 and DDR2, to double the data transmission rate by using two
IDENTICAL RAM sticks in a pair of specified slots on the motherboard.
