DCOM Application anonymous logon allow remote access - other options?

I use a DCOM App which connects to a central server since upgrading to
XP SP2 the only way I have found that works is to allow remote access
for Anonymous Logon in the dcom properties. Is there another way of
working round this without tweaking the application code?
