dcdiag & frssysvol

I am getting ready to upgrade my w2k dc holding the fsmo role to a w2k3. I
ran the dcdiag to ensure that every test pass before I preform the upgrade.
I have already ran the forestprep/domainprep from the w2k3 CD and it
replicated. When I ran the dcdiag, everything passed except the FRSSYSVOL.
The result of that test is:"Error:No record of File Replication System,
Sysvol started. The active directory may ne prevented from starting."
However, we have not had a report of any network issue and all network
administrative function works in AD. I made sure that the DC have the
NETLOGON and SYSVOL active and there are no DNS issue. How can I
troubleshoot this issue? Everything else passed when I ran dcdiag.

You need replication working. You shouldn't attempt to move forward with
any errors. Your gpo's reside in sysvol for example

Although it states that their is an error, at the end it tells me that the
server pass so I am confused.
Starting test: frssysvol
Error: No record of File Replication System, SYSVOL started.
The Active Directory may be prevented from starting.
......................... PWDC-ADC passed test frssysvol

Is this the only dc? If so then you would have nothing to replicate too.

I have another DC which is also a GC so the PDC needs to replicate to this
DC. Futhermore, I just ran the FRSDIAG and its coming up with:
Found 6 ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED error(s)! Latest ones (up to 3) listed above
Found 3 RPC_S_CALL_FAILED_DNE error(s)! Latest ones (up to 3) listed
All the error are in the, "Checking for errors in debug logs"

Did you try the non-authoritative restore?

I'm unclear on what to do. Are you sure the errors aren't from previous
tests? I will see what else I can find.

After multiple reboot of the two DCs, the error for the frssysvol clear and
it passed. Don't know why it took so many reboots but now the error no
longer there when I run dcdiag. However, when I run frsdiag, I get some
errrors:

I haven't used this tool but looking at the errors shows me that some of the
listed errors are hours apart. Try running repladmin and see what that
says.

repadmin.exe /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite > c:\repl.txt
start c:\repl.txt
