DBR Error Class Not Registered

Hello
Have a FP 2002 Web with an Access DB - Form submits to the DB and a DBR
region on a confirmation page serves as the form submission confirmation

All used to work....then my host changed servers.

The DBR pages ALL FAIL - I've recreated them from scratch but they still
fail with the following error message:

Database Results Error
Description: Class not registered
Number: -2147221164 (0x80040154)
Source: Provider

I am unable to figure out what needs to be done to resolve this problem.
Can anyone offer some direction?

1. What type of server did the host change to?
2. How was your site move to this new server?

Hi Tom,

Not sure what make the server is but it has FPSE 2002 installed. The form
works and the info submitted is getting into the MS Access db correctly.
It's just the DBR section that errors out with the message previously sent.
Can you direct me in how to go about resolving this problem?

You need to get answers to both of my questions.

The site was moved to a non-FPSE server and then back onto a Windows 2000 /
IIS / FPSE 2002 layout.

The moved was simply a directory copy but the host did issue the FPSE
config and recalc processes that should have reset the frontpage support
files.

The connection to the DB works - it's "verified" and the form submissions
are getting stored in the DB. Just not sure why the DBR areas give me the
DBR Erroe - Class Not Registered error.

Thanks for your efforts Tom - I hope the above info proves helpful.

The extensions need to have been installed on the machine/server first, and then the site needed to
be published via FP between machines/servers, not copied.

Maureen:
I did a Google Groups search for "Database Results Error Description: Class
not registered" and found a couple things you might try:

1) make sure that the version of MDAC running on the new server is the most
current version http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937730.aspx

2) try opening the page in FP that is giving you the error, start the FP
Database Wizard and then cancel out of it without changing anything.

Thanks for the continued assistance and helpful tips and advice.

I deleted the DB file and page with the DBR Region from the server and then
republished both. This didn't resolve the problem.

The server is running mdac 2.8 sp1 - is this the most current?

I tried opening the DBR by initating the wizard and stepping through without
making any changes - this did not work either.

Any more helpful tips or advice? Something is wrong somewhere - this all
used to work so I'm thinking it's a FP issue that has to do with the server
(but I'm not expert!).

THANKS!

Maureen:
Do you or your web host still have access to the original server where the
site was running OK - or access to a backup copy of your site from that
server? Would it be possible to publish the your site from that server to
the new server? That's the only thing I can think of at this point that
might fix the problem.

Can you switch to Code View and copy and paste all the code into a reply so
we can see if anything else on the page might be causing the problem?
(remove any database user names and passwords, if any, when posting).

Also, what's the URL so we can see the problem?
