Days in Month Question

I am trying to write a formula that will look at a cell with a date in
it, for example, cell "A1" has 07/31/2003 in it I want cell "A2" t
return the days value for that month. In this example 31. I have
tried a bunch of date formulas and have had no luck. Any help out
there would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joe

there's a whole heap of different answers under the thread you started on
the 25th, have you checked them out?
some of us thought that you wanted e.g. 07/19/2003 - "19" returned
others thought you wanted the number of days in July returned, ie "31"
solutions for both of these scenarios have been provided.
