Daylight Saving Time - hotfix keeps setting my time 1 hour ahead

Hello,

I installed the windows update several weeks ago that included the hotifx
for the change in daylight saving time.

Now that daylight saving time has passed, Windows keeps updating my system
clock ahead by one hour. It seems to do this every time I boot up my
computer. I am able to manually correct the time but once I turn on the
computer again, the time is once again set ahead by one hour.

Any assistance or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Paul Grossman.

Hi Paul,
dbl-click on the time on the lower right hand carner of your task bar,
look to see what it says below the calendar. Does it say Pacific Standard
Time or Pacific Daylight time? Is the 'Adjust for daylight savings' box
checked? If the box is not checked check it and it should npw show Pacific
Daylight Time but it may jump an hour ahead, so just adjust the time back and
it should stick.

When I double-click the clock it says "Eastern Daylight Time"

I click the "Time Zone" tab and I see that the "Automatically Adjust Clock
for Daylight Saving Changes" IS in fact checked.

These settings have been already set and I have been having the problem.
I keep manually adjusting the time (did this for the past 2 days) and the
problem doesn't stop.

Is there something wrong with the hotfix? I installed the windows updates
as I normally would have done. Is there any other settings I can check?

Thank you,
Paul Grossman.

Paul,
You can uncheck the Adjust for DST and the time should hold for now. I
have not seen this so I am afraid I don't have a good answer for you. Are
you using XP home or Pro? I beleive Home has the Internet time tab where you
can select an external time sync that may help.

Although I cannot provide
an exact solution, i might
offer a suggestion.

You might try to adjust
the time inside the cmos/bios.

Most computers allow access
to the bios settings by
holding down an Fkey or
a del key while the machine
is being powered up.

check you pc manual or
pc's website for instructions
to access to your cmos/bios.
