Dawn

For anyone who cares ;-)

When you download the Dawn demo (NOT THE ULTRA VERSION), it is possible
to run it with the latest openGL wrapper used for Dusk.
Images look horrible though, (black with strange mappings) i think NVidia
tries to
detect if the openGL wrapper is used ;-)
Anyway, since it's 'working', it's only a matter of time, before a clever
person adjusts
the wrapper / demo, so that it wil work for us ati-users as well.

How can the dawn demo get broken by updating the dx9b? dawn isnt directx at
all, its all opengl. Opengl has nothing to do with directx.
The wrapper was made for the dawn demo, not dusk.

both demos of dawn (ultra and standard) work fine on my 9700pro with DX9b
installed and the 3.5 cat drivers

Opengl has nothing to do with directx. The wrapper you are talking about is
opengl. the demo is opengl. It has nothing to do with directx/dx9a or b or
dx8 or 8.1, or any version. im trying to help you all understand and become
more intelligent, but i guess you guys either didnt read my post above or
dont care.
I don't care, I was responding to the OP. And BTW, OpenGL games in
Windows *do* use DirectX.

DirectX != Direct3D.

Well, I can run HL, Quake and Hexen 2 without DX (not installed on one
of my old Win95 machines). These are OGL games. How do you explain that?

OpenGL is a 3DVGA API only, DirectX is a complete set of API's for more
hardware than just VGA , ie. sound mouse, controllers , joysticks, as well
as VGA

I was referring to modern games, not antiques.

:^P Excuses, excuses...

Well, whatever you say. I don't have time to bother with testing on
the new games.

Like i said, i made a mistake posting.
Dawn (and Ultra -Dawn) are running perfectly, using the wrapper and directx
dx9b
I only wanted to mention, that the DUSK (not ultra!) is running with the
latest
wrapper as well.
Only the textures misbehave in this demo.

Actually, all of textures I can see is the background texture, Dusk is
drawn in some kind of wireframe...

oh, ok :) i was mistaken. well they never made the wrapper to work with
dusk, so im suprised you got it to even work, even with messed up textures.
