Hi Carl
not possible with Excel's build in functionality. You may have a look

Hi Carl!

If you enter dates in the format yyyymmdd Excel will sort the dates
correctly although the cells will not be date serial numbers but
ordinary numbers.

Otherwise you can use John Walkenbach's XDATE addin that Frank has
pointed you to.
