Is there any way i can make the date appear on the desktop permanetly without
the need of going every time to the control panel to see it?

if you run your mouse over the clock in the lower right, the date appears

Unlock the Taskbar and increase size until date appears by the clock.
Triple height is necessary IIRC.

There are 3rd party programs that will display the date/time on the desktop,
but it would be another thing consuming resources, however small that may
be.
