date range query

i have a query looking for data between two date ranges
eg all data between 1/3/04 and 31/3/04 being 1 month
i am currently usin the following query critera
in the date feild = between [startdate] and [enddate]
the above works but its sending me all data that starts
with the first and last number but in ANY month eg
1/1/04
1/2/04
1/3/04
all dates between 1 and 30 with all months
30/1/04
30/2/04
30/3/04

i only wont date between 1/3/04 and 30/3/04

can anyone help...

Greg, there are three cases where Access is likely to misunderstand our
dd/mm/yy date format, and therefore appear to give the wrong data.
