Hi everyone
Just a quick question about dates in formulae. I am making reference to
multiple cells in a workbook to a different workbook. The file that I'm
referncing has the format:
FinancialWorkbookMar'04.xls
As I said, the file that I'm referencing from has multiple (50 - 100) cells
which all reference this workbook. The problem comes in when I try to make
references from a new workbook, say
FinancialWorkbookApr'04.xls - the workbook from which I'm referencing will
maintain the same structure as the one that made refernce to
FinancialWorkbookMar'04.xls except that it will now make reference (in each
of the 50 to 100 cells) to FinancialWorkbookApr'04.xls. I'm having to go
into each individual cell and change the formula so that it points to the
correct book (the one for the following month.) Is there any easier way to
do this? I'd like all the cell references to change so that it will point
to the new book-the formula will remain exactly the same except for the
slight change in the filename. Surely there is some way to automate this so
that when I create a new book (the one where the cells point to the book
containing information for the following month), the cell references will
change automatically.
Any help will be really appreciated, this could really save me atleast 8
hours of work.
Thanks very much in advance for your assistance,
