date not visible as a file attribute in Windows Explorer and other applications

I am in a pickle. The date function is simply not visible in Windows
Explorer so i cannot see when a file was created, accessed etc. I can
see the time in hours and minutes but not the date (day). This problem
carries over to outlook when I reply to emails the Sent date
disappears.

Of course when I right-mouse click on a file and look at its
properties I only see the time as well ..no date!

Anyone have a suggestion.

Open Explorer on the right side, you should see name/sixe/type ect., right
click on name you will get all kinds of options to select. Turn on the ones
you want. In Outlook right click the left click "Field Chooser".

"Right click the left click"? An incomprehensible line in what is otherwise
a total pile of garbage. You live in Wonderland, right? Smoking a hookah,
I'll bet...

Hi Steve, thanks for your attempt but I can see the date column and
know how to turn them on/off.

My problem is that the date is not coming through.

I see this:

Name Size Date Created

File.doc 2MB 3:24PM

What I should see is 01/04/2007 3:24PM

I am missing the date part of the date attributes ..i only see the
time in hours and minutes.

Expand the column, put you cursor in between created and the next column
single left click hold and drag to the right to expand the column. or double
left click on the line that separates the fields.

I hope this helps.

Sorry about my comments to the other moron.

In the folder, hold down the Ctrl key and then press the + key in the number
pad.

Hi guys, thanks again but i wish it were that simple ..it is not a
column width problem ...genuinely the date is not visible.

I have done a screen shot and popped it up here:

http://thatsthat.googlepages.com/mydateproblem

You can see there is time in hours and days but no date ..you can also
see I have the column right expanded to show that it is not being
hidden.

Any ideas?

Got me stumped. Sorry, never heard of this one and can't begin to say where
to find the answer. Having a hard time coming up with the proper search
terms. As for the previous advice, we just wanted to make sure, <s>.

Have you done a formal malware diagnostic?

I had never seen this either, but I do have 1 more suggestion, go to the
control panel open regional & language options, make sure it states English
(US) & USA at the bottom, choose the advanced tab, if not already, then
change to English US, then put a check mark on apply to current and all users
at bottom, go back to the regional options tab at the top, click on customize
next to English (US), click the Date tab on the short date field make sure it
states MM/DD/YYYY, or what ever option you prefer.

I hope this helps

Can you see the date and time via a CMD prompt "DIR" command?

Maybe the files don't have dates...
