date language error

I am getting strange errors when I query date fields in a table based on a
filter value supplied by a text tield in a form.

The error is that the date is returned in what appears to be Japanese
characters even though everything is set to the default of English.

Has anyone experienced this or an idea of how to avoid it?

A similar case was reported and supposedly corrected through further
services packs. Are you using a version with its latest available patches?
