date is american

Date of my database is in american how can i change it that when i type in
1-6-05 it will give me 1-June-05 not 6-Jan-05
 
Open the Windows Control Panel | Regional Options, and set the date format
there. Access will then interpret what you type into the user interface
(forms, query design), according to your local format.
