Date Formula

Can anyone help? I need to create a formula that will give me the
amount of days between two dates i.e., 01/31/05 - 01/01/05 = 30 days.
I know it's 30 because I used a sample that would be easy but I'm
working on a large amount that might be 60, 40 or so. I used the HELP
on Excel but it gives me i.e. 01/31/05 - 01/01/05 = 01/30/1900. What
am I doing wrong???

Try formatting the cell where the result is as a number or as general

Where your cell shows 01/30/1900, format that cell as a number- it's
currently formatted as a date. Then you'll get the result you expect.

I got it... That worked...

Your math is correct - you just need to format the cell with the result so
that it displays as a number, not as a date. With the cell selected,
1) click on the Comma icon on the toolbar, or
2) press Ctrl-1 to pull up the Format Cells dialog box, go to the Number
tab, and pick one of the numeric type formats
