hi community

how can i change the date format from....

i create a link table from access to a text file.
in the text file, there is a date field and
how can i change the date format in the Access Table (Linked Table)
when i changed the date field (from the properties panel), the Table in the
Access show me #NUM!,
is there a way to change the Format in Access?
m using Access 2003

Textfiles do NOT have datatypes. Any field in a text file is... text! It can
be interpreted as a number, or a date; but a date is very likely to be seen as
a text string or as a division operation.

I'd suggest creating an Access table with a date field (and all the other
fields of appropriate datatype), link to the text file, and run an Append
query go migrate the data into your table. you will then have a true Date/Time
fieldtype which can be formatted any way you like.
