date field returns "#" sign

I have opend a linked .dbf file in MS Access 2003. Does anyone know why some
of that dates in the dates field are displaying "#########" instead of the
actual date? It also shows to be in (Access 2000 file format).

Thanks for any help on this.

Don't know if this is the right answer, but in Excel that happens when you
don't have enough space in a column to fit the entire number...

Mike,
It may be treating the date literally... 02/15/2007 (2 divided by 15 divided by 2007)
causing an overflow number.
Just a guess though...
