Date Conversion

I am importing data from a mainframe. Dates are in UK format dd.mm.yyyy
(30.09.2008)

I need to convert to dd/mm/yyyy

Any help appreciated.

Should have read
Select the column>Data>Text to Columns>>next>next>Date>D/M/Y>Finish
