I'm having trouble with my clock on my taskbar. Its slow. I'll adjust it
and then by the third day its 9 minutes slow. This is even when it plugged
in a not on battery power. This is very nerve racking. Can someone help
please?

Try to set a different NTP server. Right-click the clock in the system tray,
select Date/Time > Internet Clock > Settings, and select a different server.

Holy crap thanks alot charlie, I had tried that option before, but only the
first two options, and had no luck. I tried the third option this time and
it worked.....Thanks.

All of the default servers do not work for me, as they must be overloaded.
You can search Google to find a NTP server close to where you live, to use
instead.

If its losing time that fast, you might want to change the interval to every
few hours, instead of the default (weekly?).

You can use the Command Prompt to do this as I have done in the past, with
Windows Server 2003, but I cannot find the page that showed me how to do
that.

This easier to use thing from Doug Knox should work in Vista, not sure
though:

The registry location in Vista, *may* be different, but if not, you could
use this instead:

IIRC, you can change the interval in the Group Policy editor as well.

You're welcome. Thanks for reporting back.

Are you running McAfee? If so, that's the problem. Go to the McAfee advanced
firewall settings, then go to "System Services" and check the box that says
"Network Time Protocol Port 123". After that try synching the clock again. It
may not work the first time or two that you try but eventually it will
successfully syncronize.
