Datasheet/continuous form

I have a form where I have set the "default view" to "continuous" and the
"views allowed" to "datasheet".

When first open the form it is continuous but when I go into design view and
then re-open it, it is a datasheet.

How come?

This is because you are doing something nonsensical.

Access uses the default view when opening the form, but when you switch
to and from esign view it uses the views allowed property.
