Datagrid checkbox: why double click to check box?

Hello All -

Ive got a Datagrid with a checkbox that allows the user to select rows
in the grid and then perform various actions on them. FOr some
reason, the user must *double* click to check a box in the grid. Why
is this? The first click actually selects the cell in which the
checkbox resides, and the second click actually checks or unchecks the
box. Has anyone experienced this rather annoying behavior?
