Database Table Error

I've been using Access as a development tool for over 10 years now and saw an
error in a table that I have never seen before. We sell Shop Management
software using Access as a development platform and this dataabase has been
sent to us from a customer where the database has become currupt. Usually we
have no problem recovering from this ourselves. But, in this case we've come
across an error we have never seen.

We attempted to add a new record to a table and an error stating "invalid
argument" appeared and then in the table itself "#Error" appeared in every
field. The odd thing though is in the far right side where there is gray
space that shows the data edit mode, you know, like the pencil showing write
mode, etc. it's showing a Do Not Enter type of symbol. Its a round circle
with a line going through it. I've never seen this before.

Plus, if we use our import utility to move the data from this currupt
database into a new one it fails. Also, if we attempt to compact and repair
this database it crashes Access as well.

Anyway, I know this is not much information, but what I'm really looking to
know is that Do Not Enter type symbol with a line through it. I've never seen
this.

What would this mean?

Also, another piece of information. In this same table, if you scroll
through the records into the bad row, Access crashes too. Very strange
behavior.

Also, what would be the solution to fix this?
