Hi,

I really need help and or an explanation. I am working on a database to
complete orders with confirmation, bills, .... everything is working pretty
fine and in the end the size of the database was about 12 MB big.
Now I added 3 tables, 5 more forms and 5 reports. Those are just used to
type data in, save it and to print it out. The forms have a good amount of
text and fields, but the about of data saved is small.
My problems is that the size of the database jumped from 12 MB to 50 MB and
even if I go and export just that part in a new database it gets 30 MB right
away just by saving. Can that be possible? The new forms and reports are not
much different as the ones that are already there and the way they work is
the same, too.

I really appreciate any adive, tip, hint.

Thanks
Nicole

Have you tried compacting the database? That usually removes most of the
bloat from Access. You can also have the database automatically compact and
repair whenever you close it (in Options).

Do you have photos or memo fields in there?

Put it in the form as a link to an external image on a common server
location. This way, you can display the logo but not take any spzce in the
database file.

a new logo saved in each form, after deleting the size was normal.

thanks or the tips

You should be able to use a link or maybe easier, just do a serious
reduction in size of the original image. You may be able to have your cake
and eat it too.
