'Database has reached maximum size'

ACCESS 2007 query

Two months ago, I created a small database (20MB), consisting of two tables
- '34rows x 5columns' and '353rows x 6columns',

I have now finished this project.

Ever since then, a small pop-up window keeps opening: Header - 'CP Main',
with the message 'Database has reached maximum size'.

Admitterly, I did have a few problems with creating this project and the
subsequent Queries/Reports, but I put it down to not knowing much about
Access and on a learning curve - I did compact the database a few times.

I did search on Google about this error message and most of the suggestions
revolves around modifying the Registry - but I was wondering, whether there
was an easier way, as this is a small database.

Any advice?

(I have tried MSN's Help/Support, bit I get to its last page and the system
then gives me an error message.)

How big does the file show in Windows Explorer?

Is it an MDB or ACCDB file type?

Are you putting things like photos, jpg, or bmp's in it?

Are you importing into temporary tables or doing a lot of create and deletes
of tables?

Have you tried creating a new database file then importing everything frome
the problem database?

No, nothing special, just text.

I've only created two MDB files, both are of the same size, one being more
or less the copy of the other, this larger version can be seen at
'www.tvttl.co.uk/TVTT_Fixtures(2008-9)' (2472KB).

I did try initially to create a new database, when I was having earlier
problems, but these pop-ups just suddenly started occuring, days after I
finished my project.

You're limited to 2GByte (larger will give you this error).

Try Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and Repair Database (this should be
routine maintenance!!!)

If that fails, create a *brand new empty* database and use File... Get
External Data... Import on the menu to import everything from your bloated
database into the new one.

I recommend taking these databases to another computer; opening up a new
file; importing everything into it; then seeing if you have the same problems
with the new file on the other computer. Your computer may have some sort of
problem.
