Data Validation

I have Excel 2003 on my home computer with XP and I'm using data validation
in a cell to pop up an error message if the entered value is outside a
predetermined range. It works great for a while but then Excel totally loses
its ability to execute the data validation function. Not only will the one I
set up no longer work, but I'm unable to set up any new cells with data
vailidation. The only way I can get data validation to work again is to
close Excel and start it up again. Is there any way to make data validation
work as long as I have Excel open?

Hi,

I've heard of this happening and it seems to be a bug. The only way I got
it to work was just like you, I closed out and reopened.

Wish I could give you better info.
