Data Validation

I am trying to use a Drop Down list for data validation and do not want a
blank cell to be accepted. I have unchecked to Ignore Blank Box, but there
is no warning message. I have typed the list at the botton of my worksheet
and used the cell range as the Source. There are no blank cells in the
range. Does anyone know why Excel continues to allow a blank cell to be used?

are you opening the cell and then moving.
the blank cell will be accepted until the cell is activiated.

Can you clarify what you mean by activated?

No matter what data validation settings you've applied, users will be
able to leave the cell blank, or select the cell, and press the Delete
key, to clear the cell.

However, if the cursor is in the cell, or in the formula bar, they won't
be able to press the Delete key, to clear the cell, or press the Enter
key while the cell is blank.
