Data validation

Hi,
I am using the Data Validation feature. I have specified a
short list, but cannot select a blank cell entry even
though I have the 'ignore blank' box selected??

Any ideas?

Press the Delete key to make a "blank" entry. That should not be blocked by
Data Validation.

Jim,

The problem is I need a 'null' entry to be part of the
pull-down list I have specified. For some reason I am not
seeing this? I just have the terms I specified ..

Did you include an empty cell in your source range?

If your list is in A1:A3 (for example) and A1 is empty and you do not see
the blank entry in the drop down then try this:

-make an entry in A1
-check that it appears in the drop down
-clear A1
-check the drop down and (hopefully) see that a blank entry now heads the
list in the drop down.
