Data-Validation -List - Pick from a drop down menu

Hi,
To select years from the list in sheet1 and to look for year values from
sheet2 i have used pick from the list option.
Data-Validation -List - Pick from a drop down menu
but this shows list years for all row entries.
for eg if i have entries in sheet2 for years for the rows..
2000,2001,2000,2007,2000,2000,2007
so pick from drop list shows me all these repetitive options:
2000,2001,2000,2007,2000,2000,2007
is there any way that i can have non repetitive options in drop down list:
so it should show only 3 options 2000,2001,2007

What are you using as the source for the drop down list?

You'd have to narrow it down to only the unique year numbers. You might have
to use another column/row to extract the unique year numbers and then use
this column/row as the source for the list.

Kay you manually type in your list where it says source. You can type 2000,
2001, 2007 and that will narrow it down to those three.
