I am building a xls sheet for client data entry.

For one of the fields, there are a series of choices for which I have
a named range in a different sheet. However, I wish the clients to be
able to enter ANY value OR the ones from the list..how do I accomplish
this?

Thanks
Jerry

Jerry, when you do your data validation click on the error alert tab and
uncheck show error alert after invalid entered

Don't get that choice, Paul
If I enter a value not i nthe data validation list I get an error "The
value you entered is not valid" No other choices, Retry or Cancel

Select the cell where your list is and, on the toolbar, select
Data>Validation. In the Settings tab you should have List selected in
the top box, and your source in the bottom box. Click on the Error
Alert tab above and de-select the "Show error alert..." box at the top.
