data transfer

I have all of my old data and programs on a slave hard drive (win2000pro).
What is the best way to transfer all data and settings from slave? Also do I
have to reinstall all programs( which means hunting up disks and security
code numbers etc )? or can I somehow transfer from slave to new primary hard
drive all programs, settings and data files .

You can transfer the data, but will have to reinstall the applications so
shortcuts and registry will be correct.
