data tracking in Excel 2003

In previous versions of Excel there was a template wizard
with data tracking. You entered data in an Excel form and
it was stored in a database file. How can I do that in
Excel 2003?

I went to a computer that has OfficeXP and copied the template wizard file called "WZTEMPLT.XLA" from that computer's C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Library folder onto a disk or to a network drive. Then I just pasted that file into my C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Library. Then start up Excel and Choose the Tools > Addins> and the Template Wizard will be available as an addin to you.

If you need the addin and you don't have access to a OfficeXP, send me an email and I will gladly email the file to you. Please no spam or porn this is a work email account and I am just trying to help out where I can.

Kevin,

Unfortunately, once your e-mail appears in a newsgroup, automated "bots"
will pick it up and add you to their Birthday and Christmas card lists.

And once your e-mail has become part of the public domain, it will reside
there forever.

Sorry...

Best regards,
Kevin

If you did not get the file here is some additional information - between
this post and another one I actually got the wizard back - Try this: The
other response was good - the installer does not seem to work since I
downloaded and tried it several times. However, getting another copy does
the trick - I had a copy of Office 2000 running on another machine so there
is a good probablility that any copy of the wizard will work. Got the file
WZTEMPLT.XLA from the "program files\microsoft office\office\library" file
and copied to the corresponding Office 2003 file. Excel's default location
appears to be in the Microsoft\office\addins directory in the user
application documents directory but I don't like having data I need strewn
all over the computer so I can't conveniently find it for backups. You can
probably put it anywhere you like because you then have to tell Excel where
it is. Load an Excel sheet, got to Tools then Addins where you get a
dropdown box and select browse. Select WZTEMPLT.XLA from wherever you put it
and close the dialog. You may get a message that it is already somewhere
else - OK. Once the dialog closes go to the Data menu and you should find
the Template Wizard.
