I'm getting a "Data source name not found and no default driver specified"
error-message but no application is identified. How do I resolve this
problem?

Tell us when it happens and what you're doing.

The box is labelled "ERROR" and it contains "Data source name not found and
no default driver specified". It looks like the box is displayed only when
I'm on the Internet.

You can configure system and user DSN's by going Control Panel|Admin
Tools|Data Sources

We've nothing to go on at this point. All you've told us is it might be
internet related. (possibly spyware/malware?) Anything at startup? Any Event
Viewer errors?

In answer to "How do I "configure system and user DSNs" to stop the error?"

It appears the application requires access to some database or data store.
You configure system and user DSN's by going Control Panel|Admin Tools|Data
Sources according to the application's requirement.
